The increase in the earth’s average temperature is called as global warming. In recent years the discharge of greenhouse gases, vehicle smoke and burning of forests has caused the average temperature of earth to increase by 1 degree Fahrenheit since 1900 and is increasing 3 times since 1970. The greenhouse effect permits sunlight to come in but stops some of the heat to radiate back to space. Scientists say that this may cause the temperature to rise to about 3 to 5 degrees by the end of the 21st century. This shift the climatic pattern considerably which will contract the ice sheets and raise the sea level to several feet. As a result, global warming can be the most dangerous thing for earth if not controlled in time.
